GCSE coursework exemplars 2

The examples of GCSE coursework accessible from the table below were undertaken in 2005 and have been provided by Kath Holding, teacher at in Lancashire, for FoodForum. They show how her students tackled the 40 hour coursework requirement to demonstrate:

• their knowledge and understanding of food materials, processes and production
• their capability in designing and making products
• their awareness of industrial practices, ICT, CAD & CAM
• their awareness of the issues and values surrounding their work

To access the files, select the project you want to look at (pdf document)and the corresponding Teacher's assessment commentary (Word document). This will open the selected project sheet as a page in your Internet Browser.These may be saved to your PC or network and printed.

Use them with students to exemplify standards and with colleagues to help you to standardise assessment grades.
